These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SnapConvert.org website and its browser-based conversion tools (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Note: While file conversion is designed to run locally, your device may still connect to the internet to load the website and required assets. For details about information collected when you browse the website (and any optional analytics/advertising configuration), please review our Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. The Service

SnapConvert provides browser-based tools intended to convert files into other formats. The Service may be updated, improved, or modified from time to time. We may add or remove features, impose technical limits, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

No account required: At this time, the Service is generally available without creating an account. If we introduce optional accounts or paid features in the future, additional terms may apply.

3. Your Files & Responsibilities

You are responsible for the files you choose to use with the Service (“User Files”) and for how you use the conversion outputs produced by the Service (“Outputs”).

  • Rights and permissions: You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights and permissions to use and convert your User Files and to use the Outputs.
  • Confidentiality: If your files contain confidential or sensitive information, you remain responsible for deciding whether it is appropriate to process those files on your device.
  • Backups and verification: You should keep backups of important files and verify Outputs before relying on them for business, legal, medical, or other high-stakes uses.

Copyright and misuse: Do not use the Service to infringe intellectual property rights or to violate privacy, confidentiality, or other third-party rights.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security (including probing, scanning, or testing vulnerabilities);
  • Use automated means (bots/scrapers/scripts) in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or bypasses reasonable technical limits;
  • Circumvent access controls, rate limits, or restrictions;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except as permitted by applicable law.

We may suspend or restrict access to the Service if we reasonably believe your use creates risk, violates these Terms, or negatively impacts other users or the operation of the Service.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, logos, and other content, is owned by or licensed to SnapConvert and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.

You may not use our trademarks (including “SnapConvert”) without our prior written permission, except as necessary to link to the Service or refer to it in a nominative manner.

You retain all rights to your User Files. We do not claim ownership of the files you upload or the outputs you generate.

6. Third-Party Services & Links

The Service may include links to third-party websites or services. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and the third party.

Advertising and analytics (if enabled): We may work with third-party providers to display ads or measure site performance. Depending on configuration, these providers may use cookies or similar technologies. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details and your choices (where applicable).

7. Disclaimers

AS IS / AS AVAILABLE. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapConvert disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that conversions will always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific use case.

No professional advice: Any information provided on the Service is for general informational purposes and does not constitute professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise).

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapConvert will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or relating to your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnapConvert’s total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) USD $100 or (b) the amount you paid us (if any) to use the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In such cases, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SnapConvert from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Files or Outputs; or (c) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or third-party rights.

10. Suspension & Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk, or used the Service in a way that could harm the Service or other users.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law & Venue

Governing law & venue: These Terms are governed by the laws of Argentina. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the courts located in Argentina.

Consumer rights: If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory rights under the laws of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms is intended to limit those rights where they cannot be waived.

Language: These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version will control to the extent permitted by law.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional policies posted on the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and SnapConvert regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
